“Building with Purpose. Growing with Compassion.”
Homes for the Elderly: Honoring the Pillars of Our Society
At Teparm Enterprises, corporate success is not just measured in square footage, but in the footprints we leave in people’s lives. Through our flagship CSR project — “Homes for the Elderly” — we are rewriting the narrative around aging in Kenya.
This is not charity. This is gratitude.
This is not aid. This is justice.
This is not just real estate. This is a movement.
💡 Why This Project? Why Now?
In the hills and heartlands of Tharaka Nithi County, live many of our elders — the farmers, teachers, mothers, and leaders who nurtured our nation. But too often, they now face their golden years in silence, poverty, or neglect.
📈 The Reality:
Thousands of elderly residents in Tharaka Nithi live below the poverty line.
Many lack access to adequate shelter, medical care, and emotional support.
There is no established community-based model that protects their dignity and well-being.
We cannot accept this.
That’s why we’re building more than homes — we’re creating a sanctuary.
🏗️ What We’re Creating — With Heart & Purpose:
🏘️ Safe, Dignified Elderly Homes
Custom-designed, senior-friendly residences with access to health support, communal dining, and shared recreational spaces.
🌺 Healing Environments
Landscaped gardens, peaceful walking paths, and serene sitting areas to promote mental wellness and mobility.
⛪ The Spirit Center (Prayer Room & Church)
A non-denominational, inclusive space where residents can reflect, worship, and heal.
Faith is powerful medicine. This sacred space supports emotional and spiritual resilience — and will also attract donor partnerships and community engagement.
🗣️ Community Barazas
Led by our CEO, Mr. Franklin Mwathi, these community dialogues offer a seat at the table to the elderly — empowering them to shape the very space they will live in.
🏢 Adjacent Facilities
We’re thinking long-term. Revenue from the adjacent facilities (clinic, library, cafe, church, eco cottages) within the elderly ecosystem built nearby will all play a part directly to support the care and operations of the elderly home, making the project self-sustaining and future-proof.
👨🏽💼 The Heart Behind the Project: Mr. Franklin Mwathi
This vision would not be possible without the bold leadership and heartfelt generosity of our CEO, Mr. Franklin Mwathi.
Donated Land: The foundation of the project rests—literally—on his personal gift of land.
Hosts Barazas: Mr. Mwathi personally engages with the elderly through community forums to ensure their voices lead the design.
Passion-Driven Leadership: His commitment reflects a deeper truth—when leaders care, communities thrive.
“Real estate is about more than building structures—it’s about building legacy. Our elders deserve nothing less than our highest respect and our best care.”
— Franklin Mwathi, CEO, Teparm Enterprises
🔄 How This Project Sustains Itself
This isn’t a one-time project. It’s a model that will grow, evolve, and inspire others.
🔹 Rental Revenue from ECO Lodges/cottages which will accomodate people who come for retreats and short stays subsidizes the elderly home.
🔹 Establish a small clinic serving both the Elderly and local community that Provides medical services both preventive and outpatient care at an affordable rate.
🔹 Youth Jobs in agriculture, care, and construction stimulate the local economy
🔹 Events & Training Hubs will create venues for skill-building, intergenerational exchange, and income
